I kinda wish that the background wasn't cut out around the edges because the background color of the site doesn't fit well with the image for me.

Great style and a very nice composition.
He looks more as if he is standing on a roadside than by the lake. Although the power of this work is in its simplicity, the water surface needs more work, and the horizon should be straight.

I like your style and technique. I agree about the water. Perhaps adding ripples and/or reflections.

You have a wonderful style! Colors work really well and everything is crisp. I have to agree with purplerose about the white background. I find it distracting. It's as though you took the curves and motion of the image and went a teeny bit too far. One other itty bitty thing that catches my eye is the fishing line. Based on how the pole is being held it seems the line should be tighter, less curve. Otherwise gravity would cause the string to curve more towards the tip.

When Purplerose said that, the background was the color of the gfx page, yet it didn´t really work well, The white is there only to simulate the final support, as it is intended to be printed.

I understand about the white. For online display purposes I think the image could benefit from more white space on top. After a second look I would also suggest taking another look at the points on the border. Each one seems to point us out of the picture rather than keep us in it.
